چکیده
This study addressed the concept of advocating the multiplicity of events to resolve
narrative conflicts, which is one of the reasons behind the presence of multiple
narrations in the Prophetic Hadith. The issue was examined through practical
examples found in Sahih al-Bukhari. The objective of this study was to elucidate
the reality of claims of contradiction in Hadith literature, particularly in Sahih
al-Bukhari, and to refute these doubts. The study began with necessary definitions
as an introduction to the topic, followed by explaining the criteria for advocating
the multiplicity of events and the relationship between the multiplicity of
narrations and the multiplicity of events. Practical examples from Sahih al-
Bukhari were extracted to illustrate how the scholars of Hadith addressed this
issue. The study reached conclusions, including the fact that the presence of
apparently contradictory narrations in Hadith literature, especially in Sahih al-
Bukhari, is an undisputed phenomenon. However, our scholars conducted research
and investigation to resolve these issues, identifying their causes and methods of
addressing them. One method to resolve these conflicts is advocating the
multiplicity of events based on established criteria among Hadith scholars. The
study also concluded that the occurrence of this type of contradiction in Sahih al-
Bukhari is very limited, and exaggeration should be avoided without proper
justification. Our scholars have provided precise scholarly directions supported by
evidence and indications that reveal there is no genuine contradiction in authentic
narrations in terms of their chains of transmission.
